Storm

The irresponsible day was about to change 

from calm indifference 

to cataclysmic dissonance as pale blue sky

struggled into a frenzy

of sulphurous hue with a coldly violent wind 

racing through the streets 

and sudden flares of incandescent lightning 

followed by the squall 

and the slashing rain against window panes.
