Banished

Bent and twisted branches grope and tear

at anyone who ventures near

where lonely sorrows die and nothing stirs

except the shy rustle of trees

in sepulchral silence under a turquoise sky

the copses tinted cobalt blue

and where rivulets of stolen illusions flow.
